Sixty Minute Yeast Rolls Lab

Do you have one hour to make yeast rolls? We did in our class and they turned out yummy. The kids prepped their dough by raising the temperature to 120 to force the yeast to activate sooner. We also put the dough under a bowl of warm water to help it rise faster in 15 minutes.

IMG_8723We were achieving a dough doubled in size and it worked!

IMG_8728After shaping and cutting into 24 rolls or bread sticks as one group chose, the rolls went into a 90 degree oven for a second rise for 15 minutes.
