Cougar Cake Creation: Angel Food

They say this is the hardest cake to make from scratch and Foods 2 students are out to prove them wrong.

Casie is working hard on sifting the cake flour just right.

The room temperature egg whites are whipped until stiff peaks form.

IMG_9569Measured flour is added in gradually.

IMG_9571Students gradually fold in the rest of the flour and cut the air bubbles with a knife and smooth the top.

Spongy, light, airy and delicious. The students are ready to eat their first homemade angel food cake.
