Very Veggie Stir-Fry


Foods 1 students are cooking up some very yummy and healthy veggies this week. They are learning the technique of stir-frying and how to make rice. We reviewed slicing skills and practiced breaking broccoli into florets. Simple skills to study how vegetables reduce the risk of heart disease, low in calories and full of antioxidants.IMG_3474It’s always nice to reinforce mincing garlic since it’s a state question.IMG_3475

And garlic and onion make everything tastier, don’t you think?

Students got some pointers from Jamie Oliver and Mrs. Brown. We discussed how the kale should be added at the end since it’s not quite as dense as the broccoli.
