Students are analyzing pest droppings and comparing them to the real thing.
They are taking educated guesses with the samples I’ve placed into petri dishes.
From black rice to cat litter, these students used their critical thinking skills.
This was the best hook I’ve ever done with this unit because we shared our thoughts at the end of the gallery walk. I shared the “real” ingredient samples and tasted the last one right before their eyes.
Though they thought it was bat droppings, I secretly knew it was rolled brownie pieces. Talk about eyes as big as saucers…Priceless!
